That’s not a beginners synth, its expensive and really complex. :P I heard good things about it but I don’t think thats the type of thing to invest into just yet.

I use an LPK-25 by Akai, its got 2 octaves and gets the job done. If your looking for one that can be used externally (without a laptop) I’m not too sure where to start for that.

Check out Korg, M-audio and Akai. They make a lot of tech in this category.

And there is pure software to buy for your midi controllers. I think z3ta+ is capable of doing so.
There are also controllers that bundle with midi software. You just have to look!
