So I cannot have fellowship with you then, is what your saying. I am not a member of your church. So the only way that you will except me as a christian is if im a member of your church? Than am I not a Christian? Are you saying that members of other churches are not christians or a christian has to sign a document to be a christian? I dont understand that.
No it’s not like that. You are my brother if you are a believer. What defines a believer? Confession with your mouth and belief in your heart. Although I do not know you personally, I trust you to be a believer because you told me so. Now when it comes to local community for me to know that you are a believer if you are a part of the local church. Either mine or somewhere else. To be a part of the local church is to be a member of that church. It means you made the commitment to go all the way and you will be held accountable for your decisions by the local body. How do I know you are not a believer? One of the signs is you are not a member of any church. To me it says you are not serious about committing yourself to serve. If your church does not require membership, then I can’t hold that against you.
