What if we make a drum beat that is the same rhythm as ones tribes in Africa use to summon evil spirits? That rhythm means nothing to me as a christian other than it’s a cool beat. It’s not going to summon any evil spirits because that is not why I’m doing it. Just like a specific movement is not going to summon any evil yoga spirit if I do it. As a matter of fact some of our most treasured hyms have been made from old bar songs. Do you think that an evil alcholic spirit is creeping in from that? Come on.

It’s like when Paul talked about eating meat sacrificed to other gods. He said, Eat it. You know that those gods aren’t real. But if it makes a brother who is weak in the faith stumble don’t eat it in front of him.

If it’s sin to you don’t do it.
