Re: Music – Entertainment OR Much More
This is great . You guys really have me searching. SO I hope I have the question understood this time. Sorry for misunderstanding you.

(question: If people impregnate something they make with their spiritual state then wouldn’t it follow that if you have used a product made by godless men then their spiritual state would impregnate that as well? This question was brought up in the early Church about priests who were found to be heretics or those found to be in gross sin. People wondered if the baptisms/conversions were tainted because of the priest’s spiritual state.)
On this specific comment then we should look to how Music and “products” or food, furniture, ect are portrayed in the word. Atleast I think I am understanding the question now.
Ok so, about food we are given specific instances in the word of the blood of Christ to redeam these things.
Act 10:13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
Act 10:14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
Act 10:15 And a voice [spoke] to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.”
And as far as products go I feel that they would go under the same category of redemption.
Now on music specifically.
In the word, every were, music is used primarlily, if not all together, for worship and celebration; specifically toward Jesus. There is a deeper dynamic in music than that of food or anyother thing we could buy. Such as when Jesus is talking to the woman at the well. He lays out the importance of worship/music Jhn 4:23 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. Also, we need to look very closely at were music originated, it was in the very throneroom of heaven.
Now this is important for two reasons. #1 The way music is done in the throne room is our picture of how to do it on earth and #2 Lucifer himself was an angel of song before his fall.
So as believers, regardless of what we feel our calling is, we are commanded to love God with all of our being, every part, not just some of it or the parts we want to, but all of it. So why should music be any different?
And on the second part, there is a deeper affect and danger to music created out of darkness. It is directly influenced by Lucifer himself. For if we are not of the light then we are of darkness. I do not say this to condemn anyone, I was once in darkness myself until God lifted me up, so may those man find Christ and glorify Him as well. But the fatc still remains, darkness begats darkness and light begats light, especially in something as emotionally charged and involved as music. Otherwise, why would we be so passionate about it in our discussion.
So, my point is, music and art is very much different than anything else we could create in this earth. I do agree that it is possible to take and redeem these things, as Paul and Jesus did in the word, apart from God they are dark. This is why I even produce Electro House and Trance that worships Jesus, because Jesus said, Rom 14:11 For it is written: “[As] I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God.” So in our own way we should bless the Lord in the way he created us to.
