Re: The Mission.
I don’t mean to be rude there, but it seems like you didn’t even read his post Dimitri. Street ministry was not on the radar, if we just stick to the “public” places…what would have been the modern day church? Who went into all dark places to spread the gospel. If they had only stayed in the streets what would have become of the thousands of Jews that came to Christ because they went into these dark Jewish Temples to preach? Or what of Jesus’ ministry? Think He would have been content with just staying in the streets? He went in a tax collectors home for dinner…unheard of before by a religious leader. So I think we as the church need to start thinking again about ministry. Street ministry has it place, don’t get me wrong…but it cant stop there. When I look at Jesus’ example of ministry I see Him going to people, not waiting for them to come to him. If your calling is not in the clubs, ok…but don’t put down someone else’s calling because you don’t like what goes on inside a club. I don’t always like what goes on in the streets, but I still walk in em. In fact i’ll go to a hood where I know drug deals and murders may live to preach and show the love of the gospel. Just having some real talk.
