I just found out tonight on tastyfresh and facebook.
DJ Pat D posted about it on TF, which is a good friend of Chris in California:

yeah, man, it was unexpected. It was from cancer, it had gotten worse recently.
here’s Pat’s thread I quoted:
Here’s where Chris kept updates:
his last update was:
Things are getting seriously bad for me now. I don’t see me returning to work anytime soon. More tumors are showing up in my neck and the tumor on my chin is not shrinking at all. My oncologist has basically told me that everything that could be done has been done. He has pretty much told me that he sees no good in trying any further treatments because it would be pointless. He has given up right now.
Where do I go from here? What do I do? Again, I lay my life in God’s hands.June 11, 2009 at 1:36 pm #28965

WHAT?? NO! I THOUGHT HE WAS GETTING BETTER, NOT WORSE!?
FOR REAL??June 11, 2009 at 3:31 pm #28969
wow. I just feel rotten. I can’t celebrate even in his new life… this is a blow. A real big shock to me. He emailed me just last month too… it’s so sudden. I know he was sick, and wasn’t going to Cornerstone this year…
God be with Crystal and the family, I pray. Touch them and somehow, let our love for Chris be felt … from the whole extended family here and at TF.com too. He is now a legend. And a role model.June 11, 2009 at 3:35 pm #28970

Hey everyone. Thought I’d drop by and contribute to this….Honestly, I think everyone’s really said it all. Chris was a great guy with good intentions in everything he did. You always knew where his heart was. I wish I had just a little bit of the faith he had.
If any of you read my post on tastyfresh about Chris, then you all know what I’m about to say. Chris’ situation with cancer reminded me a lot of my father, and I saw a lot of the way my father handled his cancer in Chris. Unfortunately, both situations had the same results. The good thing is, in both situations, I know the ultimate results. It honestly brings a tear of jealousy to my eye to know they’re both with The Father now, enjoying the fellowship we all hope to have one day.
It’s also important for us to look at things we can learn from Chris’ life. First and foremost, put God first in EVERYTHING you do, keeping your intentions pure and your heart open. Secondly, thank God for EVERYTHING you have, because without God, we have nothing. Lastly, be considerate to your brothers and sisters in Christ, because we all represent EVERYTHING Christ’s love stands for.
Our walk is our witness, and there’s no questioning Chris’ walk.June 14, 2009 at 1:57 am #28972
