I’ve heard about Citipoint church somewhere before…do you know if Citipoint church was founded by a South African called Andre Pelser? Or do you know if he was connected to the church in some form in the 80′s (I think?)?September 2, 2009 at 7:42 am #30086
dont think so, ive only been goin to the church for almost 2 years now, but it was founded about 31 years ago…September 7, 2009 at 3:34 pm #30087
Dude loving that song, got any links for your friend?October 16, 2009 at 7:08 am #30096
hey Guys, Just thought id update briefly n post up a pic of my new Studio setup. it sounds sooo goood
Its Basically My PC (AMD Athlon X2 5200+ Dual Core with 2Gb of Ram on a Gigabyte mini ATX Motherboard) Running a Beta Version of Windows 7 with a 22″ Monitor.
And an NAD Surround Amplifier running JVC 80W 3 Way 6″ Speakers (this works Very Well because the output for the Speakers on the Amp is also 80W so its a very well matched setup)
only thing is that i have the volumes for everything turned down to 50% on my pc accept the master because for some odd reason it distorts a little ???
At the moment im am using Fruityloops XXL 8 for production and Virtual Dj for Mixing, but my cousin has Reason and Cubase which he said i could have because they arent used by him anymore, so they will be verryy handy once i get some decent synths etc
thats all for now

Short and sweet. So tell me, are those monitors flat or what? how does your music done on them translate to other systems?October 16, 2009 at 6:25 pm #30098
what!? No Midi Controllers? No synths? SACRILEGE!
Welcome!October 16, 2009 at 6:36 pm #30099
Digital if you got up and running with renoise or logic you wouldn’t need any midi keyboard, you could just rock it out on the keyboard.
NO velocity thoughOctober 17, 2009 at 1:04 am #30088
in reply to tony: did you mean Phat? (if so the yes theyre very Phat) or did you mean something else by flat?? lol
DA: im a student so atm i cant afford much, i got the amp from my church op shop for $50AUD i think it was worth over $600 new, and its in really good condition so i scored big time there and the monitors came with a dvd mini system i bought afew years ago on special but i have seen some nice line 6 usb synth controllers etc for under $300 so i might try and save up for one cause i just got a job

I believe he was referring to the frequency response of the monitors. The idea is to have flat monitors so that it is easy to get an idea of what your mix will sound like. Having monitor speakers that are too bright or too muddy will be harder to mix on. Hope this clears stuff upOctober 18, 2009 at 2:57 am #30090
ok well in that case yes theyre very well balanced/flat (i have my computer running a powerful EQ over the master because without it it sounds pretty average) i tend to turn the bass up tho with most music because i love the harder edge bass i get when i do and when i do its still go good top end response so its not muddy at allOctober 18, 2009 at 1:33 pm #30091
Thanks graphite, I hadn’t seen the responses, that was what I meant…
Technically speaking, what matters is the final outcome, the rest is of less importance – if you using what you got to the max, then you’re at the max!
