If you follow artists and DJs in the Christian world, than I am sure you have noticed the movement of DJs supporting organizations that work to end human trafficking and help orphans and at risk youth.
If you didn’t know, well there is!
It is actually an amazing movement that I feel will grow and expand as DJs and artists rise up and stand beside these organizations such as Grace Haven, Exodus Cry, and the Orphan Justice center.
So I guesse the point of this post is this, a question.
—-What do you think your part to help orphans and the opressed is?—-
I feel personally called to devote a lot of my life to this particular subject, but I think EVERYONE is called to help orphans and opressed peoples to some extent.
Here are a few scriptures highlighted to me and I am really interested to hear other peoples opinions and thoughts about it.
Isa 58:5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? [Is it] to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 “[Is] this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 [Is it] not to share your bread with the hungry, And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out; When you see the naked, that you cover him, And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
Isa 58:8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
Isa 58:9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I [am].’ “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
Isa 58:10 [If] you extend your soul to the hungry And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness, And your darkness shall [be] as the noonday.
Isa 58:11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Isa 58:12 Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In.
Isa 58:13 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, [From] doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy [day] of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking [your own] words,
Isa 58:14 Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
Bless you guys! And I look foreward to hearing your thoughts.July 27, 2012 at 4:58 pm #38805
Ezekiel great topic man. Isaiah 58 is a great chapter. I Think you know where I stand on the issue but it really doesn’t matter what I think lets look at what God thinks of justice.
He ensures that orphans and widows receive justice. He shows love to the foreigners living among you and gives them food and clothing.
( maybe some of the people who are always complaining about foreigners being he in the states should read this)
“True justice must be given to foreigners living among you and to orphans, and you must never accept a widow’s garment as security for her debt.
Let true justice prevail, so you may live and occupy the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
‘Cursed is anyone who denies justice to foreigners, orphans, or widows.’ And all the people will reply, ‘Amen.’
James 1:27 (KJV)
“ Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
psalm 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you. (Gods kingdom rests on justice and rightousness)
The Message (MSG)
21-24″I can’t stand your religious meetings.
I’m fed up with your conferences and conventions.
I want nothing to do with your religion projects,
your pretentious slogans and goals.
I’m sick of your fund-raising schemes,
your public relations and image making.
I’ve had all I can take of your noisy ego-music.
When was the last time you sang to me?
Do you know what I want?
I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
That’s what I want. That’s all I want.
Jesus even said that the spirit of the Lord was upon Him to set captives free. That mandate didn’t stop with Christ because the word tells me that the same spirit that was in christ resides in me. (The same spirit that raised jesus from the dead resides in me) It even says that it is no longer I who live but Christ within me.
I am excited about some of what God is doing about this topic and I know He has some big things in the works for this community and this issue. Be encouraged we can stop this evil.July 27, 2012 at 5:45 pm #38806
Love it! Thank you so much for the scripture. It is so amazing to see how much Jesus talks about justice in the scriptures.
It is an interesting thing to see two things rising up together, Justice for the opressed in human trafficking and Christian Dance Music. Would it not be like the Lord to take an industry that has con tributed to so much evil and in aiding human trafficking AND THEN turn it around and use it as a spearhead to take down this opression!
We will see what Jesus does with it.
Keep the comments commin’ guys!

Oops, sorry about that. Lets see if it works now.
I hope some of you will really donate something.
A few bucks is a good start, and if you find you can do more, then that’s great.
So put a few bucks and if you can feel it on your heart to do more, then maybe you can donate more regularly.
