Got a gig!
September 15, 2010 at 9:07 pm #22593
Got my first gig about set for this November! I need prayer that it will go smoothly and honor God. A little bit of a wreck thinking of and planning what to play, how to mix it properly etc. Thanks for all your support peeps! This is a dream come true, a culmination of years of hoping, waiting, practicing, and refining my skills. Praise GodSeptember 16, 2010 at 2:41 am #35610

The event is November 20th. You’d want to dress warmly though haha, cause this is eastern Canada in November we are talking about. I am stressing about how to pack.September 18, 2010 at 9:02 pm #35616

Warm pants will be a good thing lol. Looking for airline tix. Such a fun (not) thing.September 24, 2010 at 5:05 pm #35619
I hope you find a great price on those tickets.September 28, 2010 at 9:08 pm #35620
I got about as good a price as can be expected I suppose. Got the additional insurance against baggage loss, delays, disasters, cancellations etc, and being able to change flights if need be because of those. That was an additional $29 but worth it.September 28, 2010 at 11:20 pm #35621
Jeremy/djfezzik here, i’m one of the leaders at HeatWorshipHouse in Ottawa.. I met MPH, Radiance, Graphite412, Rodimus and others at Movement/FSOW in Detroit, hi guys!! and I would like to add to MPH’s praise report!
We had about 120 people out to our last event, most were un-churched type people.. we believe God is doing a wonderful thing in that our 2 founders (Tyler & Rachelle) have made connections with most of the leading rave promoters in Ottawa, and talked to them about God on at least one occasion. Despite their un-easiness with organized religion, they support us and even tell everyone to come to our events! So looking forward to this event in November.
MPH, Just a tip – based on the people attending our events (ravers), swinging your set in a more faster/harder direction may be a good option, but no pressure, play the set you feel led to play.
Now the following is a personal request only; Basshunter?September 29, 2010 at 1:10 am #35622
Funny you should say that, I have been looking for some harder tracks, mostly in the psytrance vein. I too was thinking that there would be a younger crowd and wouldn’t want to bore them with way old stuff, but am going to throw in some retro tracks, wouldn’t be my style otherwise Haha, yeah I can work in some Basshunter lol. I only have the one cd but have another track on a compilation but it’s not very up-tempo.
That is superb about the turn out and the connection Rachelle and Tyler are making with the secular rave world. It’s great when the body of Christ can make a good impression on those who would rather not be associated with believers/the church. This can only end up a positive.September 29, 2010 at 3:54 am #35623
Looking forward to hearing your unique style dude!!. Phsytrance-ish, yeah they will love that. And Im only being semi-serious about Basshunter, even if you throw in just one of his hit tracks it would get a few cheers for sure.
yeah, things are looking very positive. Thru our events people are getting a different view on what Christians are like. Thats especially good cause this is a crowd that can be particularly anti-God/religion, but once people get over the religion thing they are surprisingly open to talking about God and stuff.
