Here is the file guys. It was done in renoise. I think I’m finished, but I might change it later. Let me know what you guys think.November 22, 2009 at 8:20 pm #31794
I forgot to add that you can give this away or put it in mix tapes as long as it isn’t sold. God Bless!!!!November 23, 2009 at 5:45 am #31795
Niiice, I’m liking that sidechain compression you have going on with the synthsound at around the 5 minute mark. All I would say is to try and bring the vocal out a bit more to let it shine and get those words across nice and clearly so people can enjoy the lyrics. The delay makes it a little hard to discern the words at certain points, I’d just maybe suggest a slightly quieter delay/echo. Other then that this thing is sounding solid, very uplifting. I especially love the little break down/change that you bring in around the 4 minute mark and onward, it makes the track a lot more interesting and dynamic when you change things up like that, great composition & arrangement. Keep it up brother!November 23, 2009 at 7:38 pm #31796
Just wondering how hard do you think the vocals are to hear. By the way the vocals that come in at 25 seconds are beat sliced, no words, just noises. Is it really hard to hear or just a little too quiet? I’ve probably heard it too many times to really know if the words are hard to understand. Just wondering if anyone else also thinks that the vocals are down too much.November 23, 2009 at 9:44 pm #31797
They’re perfectly audible. The volume level is fine. I’m just mainly talking about getting the vocals to be more on TOP of the track instead of behind it. But I’m just a stickler for trying to get the vocal as present and heard as possible so definitely get more feedback about it cuz it’s probably just me, haha.November 24, 2009 at 7:59 am #31798
Ya Genesis thought that the vocals were a little quiet, I think that I might try to mess around with it a little. Thanks for all the comments. More will be appreciated .November 24, 2009 at 8:09 am #31799
ya I also tend to like everything covered in reverb or delay so I tend to saturate everything . Sometimes I get a little carried away. I listened to too much Pink Floyd’s Live Pulse album when I was young, before I got saved. That has gobs of reverb lol and I got hooked on the big spaces . Put a band with lots of reverbs and delays in a giant hall and you get even more.November 26, 2009 at 1:11 am #31800
I’ve been thinking of putting an intro to this song. How is the outro?
Would this be hard to use in a mix? Any suggestions on how I could do this would be great.November 26, 2009 at 2:04 am #31801
actually both intro and outro are very good for using in a mix, so those are fine. keepemNovember 29, 2009 at 7:47 am #31802
I finished up a couple of extra things
1. I changed the bass
2. brought up the vocals a tad
3. Put some extra stuff on the second verse/chorus
Other than that it is the same.
If anyone wants the files for a remix, tell me what you want and it should be no problem with uploading them or sending them via dropbox.November 30, 2009 at 5:35 am #31803
