im tired of it… and im sure alot of you are tired of it… but the reason people call everything “techno” who arent in the EDM Scene, or don’t know that much about EDM sadly do not know any better. Here is the solution! an all inclusive interactive guide on all things EDM! or… to the Layman… Electronic Dance Music.

Please visit this site if you have any questions about different styles, genres, or subgenres of EDM, please click this link, and become versed in the ways of EDM!!

Reading through it… a few ‘f’ bombs throughout, if you’re easily offended… but all-in-all a great guide. Well thought out. I read the statement “Trance is dead. Ferry Corsten killed it.” It just made me laugh…

LOL, shelby you should know better than that. While that EDM guide is informative, it is very biased in some ways and does have some profanity in it.

When the first electronic music came out that wasnt Disco (house would have been called disco back then too), they called it techno.. thats how the term got stuck..

but the reverse problem is also true, producers like me hate having to make genre distinctions when im just trying to make beats and sounds with no rules, I make stuff with a 4×4 beat and when I don’t know what to call it I call it techno.

Yeah, good guide, but biased for sure. he doesnt seem to like certain genres very much- such as hard dance.

It’s not wether YOU are easily offended by cus words, but wether or not YOU are prepared to go to the throne knowing that you fought or not about God’s way.

    Colossians 3:8

Theres alot of genres missing from the guide too which I noticed

Me personally, because of being from North East of England am a very avid Makina fan (Bouncy Spanish Techno), but doesn’t seem to be in there anywhere :(
