Music, Jesus, Life

I’m entering a new chapter in my life. I have been seeing a beautiful girl named Hannah for almost a year and a half now, and I’m happy to say that I take close second in her life, right behind our Lord Jesus. Last summer, the Lord told me exactly when I should ask her to marry me. At that point I had no money, no ring.
Well, I am pleased to announce that we are now engaged and will be married on September 10, 2011. Her grandmother surprised her with her own engagement and wedding band, the WEEK BEFORE the Lord told me to propose to Hannah, which was January 2nd.
So as you can imagine, things are changing and I have been praying for financial provision. I need a job (or better yet career!) that can sustain us in this part of our life. Thanks to God, I have an amazing job at the student newspaper at South Puget Sound Community College where I go to school, which has been great for me. I am the advertising manager there, and I get commission on ad-space sales.
A couple of weeks ago, I got really discouraged. I was running out of money and really worrying about the future. But I kept lifting it up to God, and having people pray for me at church. About a week ago it worked out that one of our best advertisers will continue for the rest of the year. That alone will cover my rent until June. I thank the Lord.
But I know this job will not last forever. School is over in June, and I won’t be working for the paper after that.
I have been working like crazy on remix projects and original productions, and I know God wants to use those gifts. I am also planning on getting my DJing back on track, and hopefully that will generate some income. I’m planning on getting a couple of websites going, to promote my productions and DJing.
I also have plans for a DJ ministry/church project site that I have been praying for guidance about. Hannah coined the name “ShineHouse” and that is what it will be called. We are really excited about it, and there is a great church here in Olympia that would totally be on board for hosting events. I pray that relationship will bear much fruit, and I am so thankful to God for them.
It is my hope that you will lift us up in prayer in this great shift in our life, as we pray the Kingdom down to meet us all.
Thank you, love you all.

‘grats! Marriage is hard work and definitely takes a lot of adjustment (at first but also periodically through the entire marriage), but it’s most definitely worth it. I’m over 16 years past my wedding day, and my wife is by far the best friend that I have or have ever had.
If God’s brought you to this point (which it sounds like He has), He won’t let you down now. Hang in there and trust Him for job, finances, and such. His plan might not match where you think you’re headed, but His way will be better.February 11, 2011 at 5:46 pm #37345
