New season in my life!

Hey guys Justin Yoder here, just wanted to let ya know what i’ve been up to.
This season in my life has been a real transitions for me. A few months ago my senior pastor of my church went to be with the Lord. He was a huge influence to me and literally thousands of people across the country. I am very thankful though that he does not have to face anymore pain and that he is with Jesus. Our family life pastor has taken more responsibility for our church now, and has many things to take care, one of which is being the youth pastor.
I was also in a courtship with a girl for 2 years and just recently ended it. It was a really hard thing for me to do, but i felt that God was leading me to end it becasue she wasnt the one God had for me and it wasnt the right time to be in a courtship. I felt that being in the courtship was taking me away from the calling God has for me as a youth pastor. To be honest it began to drain me spiritually because i was putting all my time and effort to train and mentor her spiritually with her being a newborn christian. But God began to slowly move me away from that, and showed me that was only meant for a season in my life.
For many years God has placed a desire in my heart to be a youth pastor. I have been waiting for God to bring me into a time of training for youth pastoring. As a student in youth group i was involved as much as i could, being a worship leader in the youth band and help leading small discussions and such. About a week ago the family life pastor has asked me to work at the church in the youth department! And i’m getting paid too! (which means i found a job finally!) And it’s something i love to do! I’ll be taking on most of the responsibilty for the youth group (scheduling events, trips, preaching, and other responsibilities of a youth pastor) I’ll only be working about 10 hrs a week at the church though, $10 an hour, but that leaves more room for a part-time job somewhere else too! (and i take care of alot of the responsibilities for the youth dept. at home) I am very thankful that i got it!
I truley believe that this a new season in my life, and that God is gonna do some amazing things! (and i’m not even 21 yet! ) Theres something about following the call God has for you, when you answer that call, you feel alive!
God bless!October 4, 2010 at 11:31 pm #35758
Thanks for sharing. Sounds like interesting and cool things are going on in your life. Hopefully you can continue to share them as they come up.
God Bless you and your youth ministering. I know that is a fun but also tough thing to do. May God Bless your efforts.
May God heal any hurt left in your heart in breaking off your courtship.
