This special radio event will include everything you can think of that has impacted Electronic Dance Music as we know it. 70′s House, 80′s Techno, 90′s Trance, B-Boy Breaks, Drum n Bass, and even Garage/2-Step roots. With every song the year will be listed, so you can appreciate the time in which this great music was originated. Its where weve been, and its a good appreciation of where we are going.
This looks like a fun thing to compile.
can we help? (I see many cans and many worms)
Actually tahts so funny..it has no relevance to electronik musik but I was listening to latin jazz and swing and big band music from the fifties trying to compile a nice dinner time compilation for rachelle and tyler for their wedding
Yay Darude! I have that cd somewhere… my first influences were the typical British synthpop like softcell, eurythmics, depeche mode, tears for fears. Those are just early mems from mtv before my parents cancelled cable in the late 80′s lol!
Moby’s Everything is Wrong Album was my first true edm album. Had that on tape. Wore that baby out! Then there were the jock jams from the early 90′s lol.
ok, Im just telling ya now……. NO JOCK JAMS, sorry. But all that other stuff you mentioned is in there. This is going to be HUGE! Weve got songs from 1970 (electronic music), house from 1978, electro from 1980, its going to be awesome. Also be sure to check out “Where It All Began” featuring mixes from Paul Oakenfold, Sasha & Digweed, Deep Dish, Danny Tenaglia, Sander Kleinenberg, Nick Warren (Way Out West) and a mix from Colin Moreh (Shiloh) from 1993. I posted that flyer in the “hangout”. See here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1808
Sweet! doesn’t get a whole lot more classic than 808 state. It’s awesome that there’s going to be late 70′s/early 80′s as well. I’m sad my one Kraftwerk cd’s I pulled a few tracks off of is going bad. It’s from like 90 or 91 though. The Album is Called “The Mix” I do have “Tour de France as well”. Any Peter Gabriel? lol jk. Unless you like his stuff which was good in it’s own right.
