Mac pros are expensive. Just get a hot rod pc machine for like 1/7651782538172563 of the price lol

obviously you don’t know me, dad and I searched for awhile before finding this deal on ebay. I find deals on my stuff.

anyway, it isn’t the latest Nahalem processors but not wimpy by any means.

    specs: MA970LL/A
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP11
    dual 2.8Ghz Quad core processors
    2GB memory
    320GB HDD
ATI Radeon HD 2600 vid card

It is a good deal, bout half the price of the Nahalem processor setup and about the same price if I was building it with server parts like Mac Pro’s are built with.

I’ll be putting my two 640GB HDDs into it next week from my old studio computer. Then plan on saving for 6-8GB more of memory.

Far as just going with Windows setup. Well I’m starting to like Mac OSX better, though Windows 7 has impressed me so far. I also video edit and have gone with Final Cut Studio, Mac only there. If I went with Windows my choices are Media Composer and Premiere. Avid Media Composer costs almost as much as this Mac Pro and copy of Final Cut Studio together. That leaves Adobe Premiere which I’m not too fond of, even though they did do lot of good changes to it in CS3.

So, Mac it is for me.

Ya Dunamis i hear you on getting deals. I just don’t like macs for the reason that they are expensive. I like the OS okay; I just like poking fun at the prices.

I think Microsoft is expensive as well. Only way to really do a computer cheap is not buy Microsoft or Apple. Prior to Win7, i’ve been liking Mac OSX more than any of the Window’s OS. But after working with Mac’s for a year, they seem to do better with lot of the programs I have.

yes, I would have to agree. If I could run Pro Tools and Ableton on Linux that could be a possibility. There’s a video program I could use that Autodesk makes.

Feeling a little under-equipped in comparison to some of you guys. But, every piece is a blessing, so I don’t mind!

    2 x Citronic PD2 Turntables
    Numark PPD01 Mixer
    Korg Electribe ES1 MkII
    Korg Kaossilator
    Korg MiniKP

I don’t really produce. I find the set up is giving me a lot of flexibility when DJing.

I started with an Athlon, Fruity Loops and a Little midi keyboard.

@DevoutRebellion: Kaossilator looks sweet. Is it worth it? :-)

@djdunamis: Your setup looks sweet man. :-)
