One of the best ways to get to know and produce what you want is to listen to tracks that you like. Listen for what they do with the different instruments, the different orchestrations.

    What are the instruments doing

    drums
    pads
    -percussive
    -arpeggiation
    -regular
    leads
    bass
    fx

there are also a bunch of youtube videos on-line for producing trance. I kno there are a lot of renoise videos on there offering tutorials for different edm genres.

Ya Goa baselines are a sinch. But you need a good compressor to do them (at least thats how i get em done). And Reason 3 I don’t think has the mastering suite. Let me know if it does. Anywho if you know how to set up side-chain all a Goa baseline is hitting on the ups really fast. So put your notes to 16th’s and let it ride!
