Roll Call! (Sign up)
March 8, 2010 at 5:34 pm #21965
Ok guys, its almost that time again! May 28th is just around the corner so its time for us to get organized. Last year at this time when we did our first outreach event we had about 11 Godsdjs members fly / drive up from out of state but at that time we only had 300 some members on the forum… Now we have over 1600 members so we should have quite a few more people coming up.
The dates are May 28th – 31st. But you should leave the morning of the 1st of June becuase the 31st is the best day of the fest.
Since we will need a way to get everyone around once here we are looking at renting a couple of full size vans for the weekend. Everyone will need to chip in on the cost but it really shouldnt be more then a couple of dollars a day per person… (depending on how many are coming).
Needless to say that even though Becky and I bought a new house we can’t house 20+ ppl … so we will have to get some hotel rooms.
I’m going to negociate with some local hotels to try and get a block of rooms cheep but I need a general sound off of who is coming.
Now there is a possibility that we may be able to house the MARRIED COUPLES only. This is because we don’t want to have single guys and girls sleeping under the same roof. The singles will be split up into hotel rooms based on gender with probably 4 in a room…maybe 5 with a roll out bed.
THE FUTURE SOUND OF WORSHIP SERVICE 2
On Friday night of the 28th we will have our second anual Future Sound of Worship service at Rochester First Assembly of God (our home church). Sciencedrop and I will be spinning for about 1.5 hours each and there will be dance worship and prayer. This is to gear us up for the witnessing and passing out flyers over the next couple of days.
Also, this year we will be passing out hard copies of our new Godsdjs compilation disc as well. More details to come on this…
Ok so lets hear the roll call now…post if you’re coming!March 8, 2010 at 5:40 pm #33323

I’m very new to this website, so I don’t now much about the music festival.
Where do I find more info, such as the location, etc? Is it posted somewhere on the website?March 8, 2010 at 9:56 pm #33320
hey Dove sorry I should have mentioned. The festival is in Detroit. Every year for the past 11 years Detroit has hosted the worlds largest electronic music festival. Its outside on the river and about 3,000,000 people come to the fest over the 3 days. The fest starts on Saturday and runs through Monday (Memorial Day).
The Friday night before the event we have a worship service at my church where we play all Christian dance music. Everyone dances and prays and then we head out to the festival and pass out flyers with a salvation message and info about Godsdjs. This year we will also be passing out free cds. Last year we passed out 1000 flyers and this year I hope to pass out 5000! Last year the response from the people that we reached out to was amazing. Everyone wanted to know more about us!
So to come you will need to fly into Detroit Metro airport on the 28th and fly out the 1st of June. (I know that there are other coming from Texas for sure too!) I’m working on getting cheap hotel arangements for everyone too.
Hope that answers some of your questions!

man your avatar is going to make ppl blind!March 9, 2010 at 12:59 am #33313
well as of now, I couldn’t go again this year. I probably could scrounge up the money, but couldn’t get off from work for that long. Felt like pulling teeth just to get the two days I did for a video job last month. So far it looks like 300-350 just for a round trip plane ticket to Detroit. Anybody got a better site and airline to look at? Then I would have to save up another hundred for rest of expenses.
Reality, i need to go to the eye doctor and do some repairs on my car first before anything else. gah, I need a better job.
