Okay, so I was at this life light concert series deal and I was chilling near the DJ. I was wondering what I would do to start. Would I try Virtual DJ? I dont have much money so I am not going to be going all out on equipment.

you can get an used torq xponent for around $400 or a little less and the software is free. i had a torq for 2 years and liked it alot but recently just upgraded to the numark mixdeck.

 where did you find that for $300? That’s like a 700 controller there.

For something inexpensive, check out Numark, they have several controllers that are reasonable. Other than Omnicontrol, you would need a sound card and Native Instruments has a simple 2 channel for that. Then another is what Rodimus said and that is the Torq Exponent. Though with the Numarks, you can use with any software and most come with light versions of Traktor and another.
