Takeing Action on What you Believe.

Faith Without Deeds is Dead. And If I have Faith but NO deeds I am but a resounding Gong. So dose anyone have any ideas on how I can express my faith in the factional reality of action. Going to church and crashing the gates of hell has been my way of life in the past, however I feel the need to “do something unusual” with my life. I am from tampa fl and here is my web site.. if anyone wants to get together sometime and form a tribal council that’s what it’s set up for..October 15, 2010 at 12:04 am #35786
one tip from my side.
make a very cool website (like WordPress) and let the people start goooooogoogling you just by your name or artists that standing near to you or write reviews of music (either christian or not)
so what is a deed? I’m studiing., I’m working, I’m preaching, singing in public.
it took me 4 years to be audacious enough to say that also in presentations in school-

1. Something that is carried out; an act or action.
2. A usually praiseworthy act; a feat or exploit.
3. Action or performance in general: Deeds, not words, matter most.
4. Law A document sealed as an instrument of bond, contract, or conveyance, especially relating to property.
tr.v. deed·ed, deed·ing, deeds
To transfer by means of a deed: deeded the property to the children
I’m trying to keep it simple.. if you click on the expect waves section within the site you’ll see the forum and one of the sub sections is “zealo council”.. I just want to get people together to work together in the manner of music and .. not that I don’t see your already doing that, I just want it to be like an exclusive internet club that focuses on music and poetry and the study of christian theology.. mainly for fun..November 12, 2010 at 7:24 pm #35789
I like this quote:”Take what you have inherited from your father’s and work to make it your own.” Or the scripture in James that talks about a man being justified by his works, and not of faith alone. A lot of so called “Faith” teachers never touch that one. There is an organic relationship between faith and works. In the end everything will be burnt up and only those works that are pure will remain. Will my fruit remain???
Good topic.November 12, 2010 at 7:46 pm #35788
yea thats righteous, kind of like that scripture that says “The fire will test the quality of each mans work if what he builds surives he will receive his reward, if not he will only suffer loss he himself will be saved but only as one escaping throught the flames” or that one that says “the only thing that counts is faith expresing it self through love”November 23, 2010 at 7:21 am #35790
It is important to preach the gospel. Do you take time to go out and preach the gospel? If so what message do you preach? What message did Jesus preach?
Somehow I don’t think that Jesus went around and telling everyone that He loved them, maybe to a few, but we see Jesus saying…
Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, Repent! For the kingdom of Heaven has drawn near.
Mat 4:23 And Jesus went around all Galilee teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.
I know for myself that with all the different ideas about evangelism, I need to get back to basics on preaching the gospel of the kingdom, the resurrection of the dead, eternal judgment, and learn about these things in order to preach them in authority.
Also do you outreach to the poor, to the homeless? This is important also.
Mat 25:32 And before Him shall be gathered all the nations; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
Mat 25:33 And indeed He will set the sheep off His right, but the goats off the left hand.
Mat 25:34 Then the King will say to those on His right, Come, the blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Mat 25:35 For I hungered, and you gave Me food to eat; I thirsted, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in;
Mat 25:36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.
Mat 25:37 Then the righteous will answer, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You; or thirsting, and gave You drink?
Mat 25:38 And when did we see You a stranger, and took You in; or naked, and clothed You?
Mat 25:39 And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You?
Mat 25:40 And answering, the King will say to them, Truly I say to you, In so far as you did it to one of these, the least of My brothers, you did it to Me.
Mat 25:41 Then He will also say to those on His left, Go away from Me, cursed ones, into the everlasting fire having been prepared for the Devil and his angels.
Mat 25:42 For I hungered, and you did not give Me a thing to eat. I thirsted and you did not give Me a thing to drink;
Mat 25:43 I was a stranger, and you did not take Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.
Mat 25:44 Then they also will answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungering, or thirsting, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You?
Mat 25:45 Then He will answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, In so far as you did not do it to one of these, the least, neither did you do it to Me.
Mat 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.December 4, 2010 at 10:13 pm #35791
I dunno I’m so out in right field that I don’t think I’d pass a “real christian” sobriety test..December 5, 2010 at 9:50 pm #35785
Keep abiding in God Monster Baby, it’s not about our abilities but God’s grace. We might not feel saved at times, but that doesn’t mean that we are not saved. Throw yourself upon the Lord and trust in Him!December 6, 2010 at 3:25 am #35792
Yea that’s defiantly good advice…December 9, 2010 at 7:24 pm #35793
“Grace is more than nature, more than free will, more than even the forgiveness of sins and the gift of God’s commandments; it is the divinely given power to avoid and conquer sin.” – Jarislov Pelikan (tense mine)
Grace is prevenient or preceding in that he chose us before the foundation of the world. It was not our merit but His good pleasure. When we receive that grace through faith that gift is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit manifested in perfect love (see Rom. 5:5). It is then that we are able to delight in his word and it is grace that will cause us to live a life unto Jesus. It is certainly by free will that we choose Him because this is a necessity for love to be expressed. And by that same token man has the ability to choose death.
I love this quote: “All men are of the same nature, able to hold fast to what is good, and, on the other hand, having also the power to cast it from them and not to do it.” – Irenaeus
Jesus is both the physician and the medicine. Receive him daily and you will live. It is like when Paul spoke about He is crucified with Christ and that what he does is no longer him (paul) but Christ who lives in him. It isn’t that Christ has now taken over and controls Paul like a robot and Paul doesn’t exist. It is more like Paul has accepted that divine power of grace that will kill the deeds of his fleshly nature because of the love that is shed abroad in His heart through the Holy Spirit. Do we have points of weakness and defeat? Yes. Does the mercy of God cover that? I believe so. And when we cry out to him from a broken heart because we can’t properly express the love that we have for Jesus, His grace is sufficient and gives us the victory where we were once defeated. Now there is a curve or gray area to that but I believe as we pursue the heart of our God that sin in our life gets dealt with and we become more like Him.January 25, 2011 at 5:53 am #35794
I didn’t read what anyone else said, but what I believe is that being a christian is not about just believing in something but doing something about it. Whether that be doing missions work, or just being an awesome example. There are just so many Christians who just go to church and that is their ‘christian time’ and then they go and goof off all week. God should be a part of our lives 24/7. I really struggle with this, and I dont mean to judge anyone but I still try hard to set a good example and make people think, “I want to be like that guy.” Well those are my thoughts on taking action on what you believeOctober 4, 2011 at 5:39 pm #35796
There is an artical that a man wrote called milk and cookies. He talked about how this women at his church, all she would do was give out milk and cookies. That was what she was known for. He talked about how in the church we are all ways trying to go for the most extreme thing but all God wants is for us to give out milk and cookies. To have passion is awesome, and to have faith is good. But what James is saying is that works keep you in faith. Your not saved by works but they keep you in love. Jesus told a church that they forgot there first love. Repent and go back to the deeds that you did while you where in love. That’s my paraphrasing. Start pouring out the Fathers love to others the best way you know how. You don’t even have to mention that you are a Christian just pour what God has given to out.October 6, 2011 at 12:32 am #35795
yea milk and cookies… that sounds right. Well here’s a question i’d like answered.. how do you get un demon possesed, some times i feel that way it’s like the devil keeps comming to steal my joy.. every time i think i am happy and “doing the right thing” i have nightmares and I think I’m demon possesed.. I’m pretty sure I can handle it on my own but It’s and issue that needs resolving because these soliders comming back from war have simmiliar problems except where they have nughtmares concerning war I have them concerning veido games and robots…
