The Spirit Of Dance

So the Vision of “The Spirit Of Dance”. Being an ol rave kid, you know how powerful dance is. Yes, some had to do with drugs but the music was a driving force of an experience that was not too long forgotten. It was the center of everything that we did and tried to create. I was 18 sitting in my room and something came over me that spoke to me very clearly. “The Spirit Of Dance”. I thought this saying or whatever it was was really cool but didnt really understand what God was showing me till much much later. God has shown me through the years that The Holy Spirit has power in dancing. What if we danced and the sick are healed, what if we danced and the mountains trembled, what if we danced and the glory of the lord was shouted through our movement?
1 Corinthians 12:7 – Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
Becky shared this me the other night 2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now The Lord is The Spirit, and where the Spirit of The Lord is, there is freedom.
Dance is powerful. In the wrongs ways as well as in The Lords ways.
David is our best example of dance. 2 Samuel 6 is a glorious tale of an uninhibited rejoicing for the Lord through dance. Also telling us that this rejoicing was between him and the Lord and he would make a complete fool of himself in front of others if it brought glory to The Lord.November 15, 2008 at 6:30 am #25855
Dude that is sweet! Sorry we have not had time to chat yet !November 15, 2008 at 9:33 pm #25856
I agree that dance is powerful. Its is also an expression of bring down strongholds as you move in the Spirit. There is a song that my church does that makes you dance over the enemy, or something to that effect. But also when you dance, especially when you may not feel like it, and especially for those that are dancers…you can really break through whats going on in your life or maybe even others!!!November 16, 2008 at 4:41 am #25857
I went to go see ANDY MOOR yesterday/today night in this waelthy club called heaven downtown with my friends from church and I really enjoyed myself. I was just enjoying the music and smiling at the normally serious looking club crowd and then I remembered OH DUH!!! I came because Trance is the music I can dance AND pray with! I love to listen/dance to trance!!! and ANDY MOOR was lating quite a foundation of bass and soaring melodies. SO there we were infront of a wall of bassbins and I got this awesome vision from the lord:
A village I visited in Guatemala would have a new leader rise up and lead the new christians there. the maya people would have a maya leader no more the missionaries who have make the long trip up.
A native reserve in Labrador, NAIN would be recieving help from a lot of young people from Ottawa and places all over canada to bring the Good news to them.
He showed me, The Arctic and I prayed for housing for some reason.
finally God Showed me his angels protecting my dear friend PETER as he works to disciple the junior high and highschool guys from a Native reserve On Manitoulin.
Not once did the lord download a prayer for the rave/clubbing commnity though.
Native people are big on my heart as you can see!
I believe they hold much greater power in their dances, and when a culture like theirs or the EDM one is redeemed for Jesus than so to the steps and movements.December 4, 2008 at 2:55 pm #25858
So true!! I love dance… and at this point have been missing the energy of dancing. I used to always go dancing at raves and nightclubs but have had to leave that behind in the last year as God has been taking my life in a new direction and leading me away from old life styles and ways of being. I have no doubt that God will eventually put dancing back into my life somehow but know that for now he’s clearing out the old to fill me with Him, and His life, and His purpose. And I know that if I just follow God’s direction, He will take me to places I have never even dreamed of…. so for now I am content with missing and having faith.December 4, 2008 at 5:36 pm #25859
