The Way Out is the Way In!

John 7:17 Jesus speaking, “If anyone chooses to do God’s will, he will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak in my own.”
We live in difficult times, where people are searching for a way out of uncertainty, turmoil, lack and fear. There has not been in recent history such an intense atmosphere of national despair. People are searching . Searching for a way out. But the answer is not in government programs or bailouts.
The answer is not in technological innovation or a new business plan. The way out is the way in. Into a deep, intimate, passionate and surrendered relationship with Jesus Christ that covers every area of our lives.
The way out is indeed the pathway to a radical and ongoing intimacy with our Creator, Master, Savior and Lord. He is a deliverer to those who fully and unequivocally submit to his voice and direction… through sustained acts of radical obedience to WHATEVER he says to do.
We are in uncharted waters where what has worked to achieve prosperity and blessing is no longer working. We are experiencing a “Noah” like phenomenon where unless we build what God directs, we too will drown in the waters of judgment that are upon us.
God is calling us out of the fallen systems of the world but he is also calling us to himself. What he says to us in the secret place of prayer, fasting and desperation must not be presented to a committee before we are willing to move forward in God. There is a need for obedience and action NOW. Every major industry, ministry, business and charitable organization must be drastically and radically changed to conform to what will work according to the God who sees the future that he himself is creating. God is not only not surprised at current events, he is superimposing his divine will upon a reluctant, rebellious and wicked generation. If we cannot simply do what he says to do, we will be left in the ash heap of history while the new thing from heaven appears before us.
The challenge is we simply do not want to let go of what we are currently doing… for that is what we ‘know’ and are comfortable with. But God is saying right now as he said to Lot and his family in the Old Testament, “Leave it behind RIGHT NOW!”
Isaiah 43:18, Forget the former things, do not dwell on the things of the past
See I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert! (The way out is the way in )
“Then I heard another voice say, Come out of her my people, so that you will not receive any of her plagues, for her sins are piled up to heaven and God has remembered crimes. Give back to her double for what she has done.”
The contrast between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of darkness should be very apparent but many have planted feet in both worlds and are caught in the talons of of mighty evil forces. They want deliverance not from the darkness but from the consequences of sinful behavior: loneliness, disease, separation, confusion and spiritual emptiness.
John the Baptist came to his own rebellious generation with a bold message of repentance and he still speaks to us today from the gospel of Matthew 3:10, “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
If we want insight into what Jesus is saying now we can only hope to obtain it by obedience to what he has already said, no matter the discomfort, no matter the misunderstandings and disapproval or disappointment of men. Spiritual darkness prevails right now because there are MANY things we have yet to do which God has clearly revealed.
We must obey what God tells us: RIGHT NOW, regardless of cost, regardless of known and unknown consequences.
Our desire and expectation is always that if we obey, God will certainly grant us ‘success’ in worldly terms. He might do this but he is under no obligation to do so. God is building a temple not made with human hands. We must never put our dreams of success ahead of his will and purpose.
The desired dream and goal of our lost and selfish souls is not what God is after. He wants US. He is after a relationship with you and me. The process of making us into the image of his perfect SON, Jesus Christ is the ultimate aim of all history. (Romans 8:28,29)
What we are about to experience personally and as a nation (and nations) will be a deep, intense and prolonged period of correction, discipline and change which will stab at the core of our ability to trust and believe in God. We are warned by Jesus that at this time the love of most will grow cold. Don’t I beg you turn back from God now!
Your life is not about comfort, it’s about conformity to Christ. When we are not willing to obey, at that very moment we walk away from the Potter at the wheel of history and bring shame to the FATHER in a bold and shameful act of rebellion.
Every single one of us must get on our knees and faces in prayer and seek God like never before for a word not tainted by ego, pride, selfishness and greed.
The way out is the way in: total dependence on God for everything. He is either the great “I AM” or he is not our God at all.
We must come out before we can go out in victory and freedom… and we must come in to the place of intimacy before we can stay in the place of blessing and provision from God.
