after 2 months of working with vista ultimate 64 bit, I must say, XP pro 64 bit blows it out of the water. The only main difference im noticing is… That vista has a nicer looking desktop(that eats up system resources and takes up alot of RAM that can be used for other things).

If company’s will go out of their way to support 64 bit vista, they should extend the same courtesy for 64 bit XP as well.

Microsoft has officially put the kabash on developing software for XP…actually that happened like a year ago. Everything has to be Vista compatible… as for the desktop eating up system resources the only thing you need to fix that is a decent video card. I have a 512mb Raedeon x1650pro and all of the Aero Glass diplay from Vista is running from my video card using 0 CPU power. My vista 64 bit absoluley flys!

    or go Mac. ;)

only reason I would go from 32 to 64 at the moment is to use more RAM. Mac doesn’t have that problem.
