So, I’ve DJ’d for quite a while and have been wanting to make beats on the fly to use as part of worship in a live setting. I’m looking to buy a piece of hardware which I can make beats, bass-lines and use samples.
I’ve been looking at buying either the Korg Kaossilator Pro or one of the Korg Electribes. I’m pretty hands on and haven’t really used any synthesisers before. So, I was just wondering if anyone has any of these and could give me an idea of which might be better.
The electribe series would be the one for what you want to do. From what I’ve seen, ESX1SD is the sampler which is what you need if you want to do beats or sounds. Other looks like a step sequenced synthesizer.
I would LOVE the EMX. However, my money is going towards saving for my forthcoming wedding so I think I’m going to opt for the ES-1 mkII. I already have a Kaoss Pad and a Tom pf sampled stuff I had been using on FL Studio so I think I could achieve what I want using the ES-1.
So…I went with an Electribe ES-1 MKII to go with my Mini KP and my more recently acquired Kaossilator. I can now produce live beats, breaks and synths on the Kaossilator, sample them on the ES-1 and then play around through the Mini KP. Hoping to play some live worship stuff but will try to record something and post it up here.
