Farewell Chris…We’ll See You Soon

chris.jpgBefore calling it a day, Wednesday night, June 10th, I was shocked with the news that a fellow DJ and legend in Christian community, had passed away.

Chris Salisbury has been rocking dance floors and internet radio since 1999 as DJ 404 and his most recent change, Christopher Carl. From what I know of his history and first beginnings into the EDM world was being a radio DJ back in California and worked tirelessly to promote Christian dance music to the world. He was so committed to that mission that he eventually became an intern with N*Soul Records where he compiled the first few Eclectica compilation releases. As a DJ, he has had the pleasure of playing many events nationwide including Cornerstone Festival (2003, 2005, & 2007) and the inaugural Clover Festival in 2006. He has also shared the stage with Scott Blackwell, AJ Mora, Stryke, Kenneth Thomas, Joel Armstrong, DJ Pat D, Frankie Vibe, Terrence Parker, the guys from BTU Live, Sheltershed, Kubiks, Joy Electric, and many more.

As a radio DJ, over the course of his ministry, he has started and ran several internet radio stations, shows and media outlets, like One Life Radio, The Blend and Cast the Fire, which perhaps was his most successful and best known of these. As owner and operator of castthefire.com, he dedicated it to hosting podcasts, mixset downloads, and live internet radio. He is also an amateur producer of dance music.
